Showing Hidden Files and Folders
When looking for certain folders to preform SMS functions users may need to enable the hidden files and folders to be able to get into them and view folders that are hidden by default.

Windows XP

  • Options for enabling the hidden files and folders:
    • Tools --> Folder Options -->View Tab -->Select ‘Show Hidden Files & Folders’ hiddenfiles1
    • OR Start menu -->Control Panel -->Folder Option -->View tab -->Select ‘Show Hidden Files & Folders’ hiddenfiles2

Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Options for enabling the hidden files and folders:
    • Organize -->Folder & Search Options -->View Tab -->Show Hidden Files & Folders

    • OR Start Menu -->Control Panel -->Folder Options -->View tab -->Select ‘Show Hidden Files & Folders’ hiddenfiles4

Windows 8 or Windows 10

  • Options for enabling the hidden files and folders:
    • View tab -->Hidden items hiddenfiles5
    • OR Start Menu -->Control Panel -->Folder Options -->View tab -->Select ‘Show hidden files, folders, and drives’ hiddenfiles6
